Bursaries
- Students may be considered for the following bursaries by completing the general bursary application. Only one application is necessary to be considered for all bursaries.
The Michael Daniska Memorial Bursary
Value: Varies | Number: Varies
One or more bursaries are awarded to third or fourth year co-op students in the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences.
Jack and Shirley Utley Bursry
Value: Equivalent to $100 (US) each | Number: 2
Two bursaries equivalent to $100 (US) each are available for 2nd, 3rd or 4th year students majoring in a program within the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences. Preference will be given to students pursuing an honours degree.

Unless otherwise indicated, recipients are selected by the Senate Committee on Awards upon the recommendations of the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences.
These scholarships are governed by the general regulations for scholarships, medals and prizes.
Scholarships marked with an asterisk (*) are administered by the University of Victoria Foundation.
APEGBC SCHOLARSHIP IN GEOSCIENCE
A scholarship of $1500 will be awarded to a student entering the 3rd year in the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences at the University of Victoria in a Major or Honours in Earth Sciences or a combined Major and Honours in Physical Geography and Earth and Ocean Sciences.
* CHRIS AND SUSAN BARNES SCHOLARSHIP FOR HONOURS THESIS
A scholarship is awarded to an academically outstanding undergraduate student in the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences who has completed the best Honours Thesis (EOS 499). The award may be given to a graduating student.
* STANLEY JOHN CROSS AND MARJORIE IRENE MARY CROSS SCHOLARSHIP
One or more scholarships are awarded to students registered in a program in the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences.
* THE GEOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION OF CANADA, PACIFIC SECTION SCHOLARSHIP
A scholarship of $500 is awarded to an outstanding student who is entering third or fourth year, pursuing a full time course of study at the University of Victoria directed towards a career in solid earth science. The recipient also receives a membership to the Pacific Section for the duration of one year.
* ALFRED AND ADRIANA POTVIN SCHOLARSHIP IN OCEAN SCIENCE
Scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding students in an Ocean Sciences Minor or the Combined Honours in Physics and Ocean Sciences (Ocean-Atmosphere Dynamics) program in the School of Earth & Ocean Sciences and the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
