Awards
Chapman Achievement Award

Funded through the Ferdinand Edward Chapman Endowment Fund. Achievement Bursaries recognize undergraduate students who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the pursuit of excellence in their endeavours. Fine arts, athletics, and other areas where individual expression becomes public are recognized through these bursaries. Recipients must have demonstrated financial need and a minimum 3.5 sessional grade point average for students continuing at or transferring to UVic, or a 70% admission average for students commencing postondary studies for the first time. The Faculty of Fine Arts will distribute application forms to prospective students, who will complete and return them to Student Awards & Financial Aid. Deadline to return applications changes on a yearly basis.
Gerald G. and Lottie Few Achievement Award

Funded through the Gerald G. and Lottie Few Endowment Fund. - Students may be considered for the following bursaries by completing the general bursary application. Only one application is necessary to be considered for all bursaries.
Alumni Association Visual Arts Graduate Bursary*

One or more bursaries are made to graduate students in the Department of Visual Arts. Selection of the recipient(s) will be made by Student Financial Aid Services upon the recommendation of the Department of Visual Arts.
The Patricia Beer Bursary
Value: Varies | Number: Varies
One or more bursaries are awarded to a student or students entering or returning to an undergraduate or graduate program in Visual Arts. In the case of a graduate award, selection will be made by the Graduate Admissions and Awards Committee upon the recommendation of the Department of Visual Arts.
FRANCES TRAPP (BROWN) CAMERON MEMORIAL BURSARY IN VISUAL ARTS*

A bursary is awarded to a student who is entering second year of the Visual Arts program. Preference will be given to a graduate of Victoria High School.
The John Dobereiner Memorial Bursary
Value: $300 | Number: 1
A bursary of $300 will be awarded annually to a worthy and needy undergraduate student who plans to pursue a career in Art.
Douglas Gibb Morton Memorial Bursary

One or more bursaries are awarded to students in the Department of Visual Arts.
The Helen Pitt Fund Bursaries in Fine Arts

Two or more bursaries will be awarded annually to third year students in the Department of Visual Arts, who demonstrate merit and financial need. Preference will be given to full-time Visual Arts students from and in the Municipal District surrounding Vernon, B.C.

Applications from students are NOT required for scholarships listed in this section.
Unless otherwise indicated, recipients are selected by the Senate Committee on Awards upon the recommendations of the Department of Visual Arts.
These scholarships are governed by the general regulations for scholarships, medals and prizes.
Scholarships marked with an asterisk (*) are administered by the University of Victoria Foundation.
* EMILY APINIS-GRUNDSTEIN SCHOLARSHIP
One or more scholarships are awarded to students entering or continuing in programs in the Department of Visual Arts or the School of Music.
* DANA HLAVAC-WINSOR SCHOLARSHIPS
One or more scholarships are awarded to academically oustanding 3rd year undergraduate students in the Department of Visual Arts.
* DR. MILADA HORAKOVA SCHOLARSHIP
One or more scholarships are awarded to academically outstanding undergraduate students in the Department of Visual Arts.
* THE PAT MARTIN BATES SCHOLARSHIP
A scholarship of $850 is awarded by the Canadian Federation of University Women Victoria to the most outstanding woman student completing the third year of a program in Visual Arts.
* CANWEST GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP IN FILM AND VIDEO ARTS
A scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student in film and/or video arts in the Department of Visual Arts. In the case In the case of an undergraduate student, selection of the recipient will be made by the Senate Committee on Awards upon the recommendation of the Department of Visual Arts. In the case of a graduate student, selection of the recipient will be made by the Graduate Admissions and Awards Committee upon the recommendation of the Department of Visual Arts.
* THE HEATHER CRAGG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
A scholarship of $2900 is awarded to an outstanding student completing year two of a Visual Arts program. The student who receives the scholarship at the end of year two may have the scholarship renewed at the completion of year three of the program.
* VAL FARIS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
One or more scholarships are awarded to female students continuing in the Department of Visual Arts.
JESSIE ALLAN FORSYTH SCHOLARSHIPS
One or more scholarships are awarded to undergraduate or graduate students entering or continuing in the Department of Visual Arts. In the case of an undergraduate award, selection of the recipient will be made by the Senate Committee on Awards and in the case of a graduate award, selection will be made by the Graduate Admissions and Awards Committee, both upon the recommendation of the Department of Visual Arts.
* ELIZABETH (BETTY) VALENTINE PRANGNELL
Two undergraduate scholarships, one to a female and one to a male, are awarded to academically outstanding First Nations students with an interest in native art in the Department of Visual Arts.
* THE JOHN WYATT PRICE BOOK PRIZE IN PHOTOGRAPHY
A book prize is awarded to a student majoring in Visual Arts with an emphasis in photography. Preference will be given to a student who has demonstrated an interest in portraiture.
* AUDREY ST. DENYS and M.E. JOHNSON SCHOLARSHIPS
One or more scholarships are awarded to undergraduate or graduate students in Faculty of Fine Arts.
THE TENLINE SALES MATERIAL AWARD
Awards of materials with a total value of $1,000 are made annually to two or more students entering second or third year of a Visual Arts program with emphasis in painting, drawing or printmaking.
