Bursaries

  • Students may be considered for the following bursaries by completing the general bursary application. Only one application is necessary to be considered for all bursaries.

 

BC Medical Services Foundation Health Sciences Bursary

Value: Varies | Number: Varies

One or more bursaries are awarded to undergraduate students in the Health Sciences at the University of Victoria. This includes the areas of Health Information Science, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology, Child & Youth Care.

There are no Entrance Scholarships specific to Sociology

 

In-Course

  • Requires In Course Scholarship Application

 

There are no In Course Scholarships that require application specific to Sociology

 

  • In-Course Scholarship - No Application Required

 

Applications from students are NOT required for scholarships listed in this section.

Unless otherwise indicated, recipients are selected by the Senate Committee on Awards upon the recommendations of the Department of Sociology.

These scholarships are governed by the general regulations for scholarships, medals and prizes.

Scholarships marked with an asterisk (*) are administered by the University of Victoria Foundation.

 

* ALAN HEDLEY SOCIOLOGY HONOURS ESSAY AWARD

An award is given to the student who submits the best Honours essay in Sociology 499. This award may be given to a graduating student.

 

* ROY E.L. WATSON SCHOLARSHIPS

Two scholarships are awarded to outstanding students who are continuing in a Major or Honours program in Sociology. Normally, one of these scholarships will be given to a student entering third year and one to a student entering fourth year.
